I have not had the Vivitar 285HV for long but so far I love it. I bought it of craigslist for half price and I am so happy I did end up purchasing it. Some advantages of the 285HV is that it is made for DSLR cameras, it has the wide normal and zoom feature on the flash head, it has a light for the side dial for dark situations, and it is super quick and easy. I would totally recommend this strobe for any DSLR photographer.

I was gonna buy a higher level flash last year, but opted to save the money for a new Video camera.

This seems like you can't really go wrong, especially for around 80 NEW.

Have you had any problems with it?

Nope. Not yet. I am actually really happy with it. Because like I said I bought it of a man on craigslist for half price.
